From the Mountains of East Tennessee, Southern Gospel Music fills the air and is the home of The Kingdom Heirs, one of Southern Gospel Music’s top Male Quartets. The group started performing in local churches and concert halls and as their music and message spread to a wider audience, so did their popularity and demand. Later in 1982 they began singing at the Silver Dollar City theme park, which is now Dollywood. In 1986 when the theme park took on their new name, The Kingdom Heirs were asked to become the resident gospel group and now this year, both The Kingdom Heirs and Dollywood will be celebrating 32 years together.  Not only are they one of Dollywood’s favorites, but a favorite to millions everywhere.
The Kingdom Heirs have been nominated many times for industry awards such as The SGMA Awards, Dove Awards and The Singing News Fan Awards. Winning Newcomer Group of the Year in 1989, the group has been a constant favorite. Charlie Brown's Coasters Tear It Up At The Princess!

"Charlie Brown’s COASTERS are probably one of the few show groups in the business who really need no promotion.  And while the original members are no longer performing, Charlie has been a Coaster for over 45 years and is loved by audiences world-wide."
The group certainly proved that Friday evening at the Princess Theatre, in downtown Harriman, TN.

By the second song, people were up dancing in the isles.  The Boomer Generation is known for it's love of old rock'n roll and they loved to dance at "sock hops" in school gyms across the nation.
The Boomer's recognized each song, it seemed, by the second note!  Smiles came across the band's faces at they realized they "had them" in every note they played.  The group was instantly loved and appreciated by the dancing, hand waving, head bobbing audience.

Charlie Brown even pulled some audience members up on stage, and they weren't afraid to "strut their stuff" for everyone!  They were actually did some good moves.  You could almost picture them at the sock hop back-in-the-day!

Thank you Princess Theatre Foundation for again getting a quality band to come and play our song/s!

Now, here's what you came for; photos of the event!

Come again soon Charlie Brown!

Ray Harris Explains The Eclipse

Ray Harris (right) spoke to a large audience today (Sunday) about Monday's solar eclipse.  He stressed the issues involved in watching the eclipse with the unprotected eye.  The eclipse can only be safely watched during the 2 plus minutes of the "total eclipse".  Any other times it's important to wear approved safety glasses!  Any camera or magnifying device (binoculars/telescope/telephoto lens), must also be covered with an approved ISO 12312-2 compliant lens cover or film.

Mr. Harris also emphasized that one should concentrate on witnessing the event, and not miss the once in a lifetime spectacle fiddling with cameras or other devices.  "It's something to see!  You will be amazed, particularly the sun's corona during totality!"

Mr. Harris is a veteran of two total solar eclipses and has been observing, photographing, and studying the sky for forty years. He collects antique celestial charts and atlases and lectures on the history of celestial cartography when ever he can find a willing audience.
Mr. Harris' lecture was introduced by Muse Watson, who is hosting a group of viewers at his Roane County farm.
Mr. Harris also became an instant celebrity, as witnessed by the noses pressed against the window!
