Canon Allen Is the 2018 Princess Idol!

Performing in the "Instrumental (6 to 12)" group, Canon beautifully played the piano to win the 2018 Multi-County Talent and Art Show at the Princess Theatre on Thursday evening!

The Princess was packed with contestants and family, balcony included, as 12 categories of artists,  competed for the 2018 Princess Idol title.  Approximately 90 local youth performed their various talents on the Princess stage.  Another 14 competed in the Visual Arts and Literature contests!

You would think you would be bored at a local talent show; expecting sub-par talent and out of tune singers.  Well, you would be wrong!  The talent of our local children is amazing.  I was impressed!
The talent show grows every year...more and more students are participating.  Even our "home schooled" were represented last night.

I will not even attempt to give you a blow-by-blow, or critique the individual performances.  I will give you my usual photo documentation of the evening.  I will try to present them as they came and follow with a photo of the winners in each category.

I left the judging to the real "judges", shown below:

Let me end by saying...get out and support our youth.  The Princess is finally being used as "The Dream" foretold.  A place for our children to come to learn and enjoy the arts!

Sidewalk Art
Unfortunately, the children's sidewalk art, that was planned for the sidewalk in front of the Princess Theatre Wednesday afternoon, was canceled due to cold and snowy weather.

However, Maurice Lowery did go down Tuesday evening to prepare for the children coming on Wednesday.  However, he too was forced to leave due to the weather.

Before having to give it up, Maurice put down a beautiful flying unicorn!  Hopefully, next year will be warmer.

That's all folks!  And remember, it's better in person.
