Clifford Curry, who once appeared on the Princess Stage, has died at age 79!
Clifford, an East Tennessee native who was inducted into the Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame in 1995, was best known for his 1967 single "She Shot a Hole in My Soul."
Curry began singing as a teenager. He performed with groups like The Five Pennies before embarking on a solo career in the mid-1960s. He recorded a handful of singles for Nashville-based label Excello Records under the name “Sweet Clifford.”
