THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS AT THE PRINCESS MARCH 8TH!

That's right, THE Kentucky Headhunters, will appear on the Princess Theatre stage March 8th, at 7PM! Tickets are available now online at kentuckyheadhunters.brownpapertickets.com, or at the local stores (available locally later next week) listed in the above flier, or by calling 865-882-8867

The Kentucky Headhunters are an American country rock & southern rock band. They were founded in 1968 as Itchy Brother, which consisted of brothers Richard Young (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Fred Young (drums) along with Greg Martin (lead guitar, vocals) and Anthony Kenney (bass guitar, vocals). Itchy Brother performed together until 1982, with James Harrison replacing Martin from 1973 to 1976. The Young brothers and Martin began performing as The Kentucky Headhunters in 1986, adding brothers Ricky Lee Phelps (lead vocals, harmonica) and Doug Phelps (bass guitar, backing vocals) to the membership.

Their most recent album, released in October 2011 on the Red Dirt label, is called, is called Dixie Lullabies.  William Ruhlmann gave this album a positive review, comparing the sound to The Rolling Stones and ZZ Top.

The Headhunters can almost be considered an area band because of their numerous appearances at The Shed in Maryville!  They'll probably be there again this year, but you can see them twice this year by coming to the Princess in March!

The Shed is located adjacent to Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson in Maryville, Tennessee. The Shed is a 16,000 square-foot mega watt outdoor covered pavilion and host to outdoor concerts and events. The Shed hosts musical groups with a wide genre of musical styles, from Americana to Southern Rock and Country.  The Shed’s musical season is April through October; concerts take place weekly on Saturday nights.  The Shed has hosted musical groups like The Kentucky Headhunters, Unknown Hinson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Leon Russell, Eddie Money, Blackberry Smoke, and Billy Joe Shaver.

Negotiations are underway for a great warmup band as well. I'll give you more details on that very soon!
So, get a jump on spring by seeing The Kentucky Headhunters "LIVE" at the Princess on March 8th.  Get your tickets online at kentuckyheadhunters.brownpapertickets.com!

Proceeds from this concert go to support the Princess Theatre Foundation.
