Sparkman & Associates Architects Win Award For Princess Restoration

I’m proud to announce that last night, at the annual AIA East Tennessee Design Awards, the Princess Theatre Arts & Entertainment Complex was given an honor award for historic preservation.
The projects were judged by three accomplished architects in New York City, and on the Princess Theatre they noted the professionalism and technical skill in the restoration of the facade; the use of the two adjacent buildings to accommodate modern-day space needs; and the restoration of the auditorium, specifically the paint scheme.

Tuckasee Highway Band Bio

The Tuckasee Highway Band has united musicians from varied backgrounds to put their unique stamp on traditional country music. Singer John Fee has been singing classic country music for most of his life, from playing small shows around his hometown of Harlan, KY, to recording in Nashville. Guitarist Josh Brown has played in various bands around Knoxville, honing in on sharp modern guitar-rock, a la The Black Keys and The White Stripes. Blues Harpist/Vocalist Jim McMillan brings the soul of old-school blues and southern rock. Drummer Joshua Sheffield has rocked Knoxville, playing punk and high-energy garage rock.

However, they come together over a mutual love of classic and outlaw country, creating a sound that both honors the traditions and roots of country music, while also blending and experimenting with each member’s unique style. On paper, it may look like a strange blending of styles, but the result is a sound that is at one moment the heartfelt vocals and crying steel-guitar sounds of George Jones, and, at another, the roadhouse stomp of Waylon Jennings or The Georgia Satellites. Through it all, there is the love of great traditional country and roots music, a genuine love for their audience, and the drive to put on a great show every time they hit the stage.

THE FIRST COMEDIAN COMES TO THE PRINCESS!

Larry Omaha is coming to the Princess November 19!
And, it's free!
Larry Omaha’s jokes come fast and furious! He hits every topic: stupid stereotypes; wacked out relatives; why Santa avoids Indian reservations.

Without using shocking language he will have you in convulsions and tears.

Some comics attack their audience but Larry engages his audience and takes them on a roller coaster comedy ride they’ll never forget. His unique point of view on multi-ethnic America has garnered numerous tv appearances and places him in great demand on the corporate circuit.

His comical stories about his youth are hailed by the Los Angeles Times as, “Refreshing, funny and universal.”

Omaha’s side-splitting jabs at every day life inspired the Las Vegas Sun to label him , “A very hip comic for the new millennium.

Larry is a Native-American, who left his government investigator job to become a stand-up comic and audiences are glad he did. His comical stories about the "Rez" and his jabs at American hypocrisy inspired the Las Vegas Sun to label him, "A very hip comic who clicks with all generations."

Larry's clean act has garnered him numerous tv and corporate appearances. He can be seen on the Showtime Comedy Special "Goin' Native." He's also been on "Mind of Mencia," "Comics Unleashed," and appears as Nightwolf in the Mortal Kombat 9.

It's FREE folks, so there's no excuse for not coming to see your beautiful Princess filled with laughter!
